ALYTUS BESS PARK 140MW/280MWh
Project overview
Project description
The Alytus BESS Park is a flagship 140 MW / 280 MWh energy storage project located in the Alytus region, Lithuania. Connected to the 330 kV Alytus substation, this large-scale facility will play a critical role in grid balancing, cross-border electricity exchange, and supporting the LITPOLINK international 400 kV interconnection between Lithuania and Poland.
Very convenient, cost effective and time consuming LITGRID connection point to main substation Alytus TP. No grid disconnection required, saves more then 9 months of waiting for TSO approval time.
Strategic location: Direct connection to the 330 kV main substation at Alytus TP ensures grid reliability and regional balancing potential.
Cost-effective infrastructure: The LITGRID connection point is highly optimized, reducing grid connection costs and implementation complexity.
Strong future synergy: LITGRID’s planned upgrade of the LITPOLINK line from 200 MW in 2026 to 1,200 MW by 2030 will significantly enhance the park’s value and operational capacity.
Additional revenue opportunity: LITGRID’s plan to launch an isolated service operation (ISO) platform could open new income streams for prequalified energy storage units like Alytus BESS.
